The ATmega328P-U PDIP-28 Microcontroller is a Chinese variant of the ATmega328P-PU IC, also known as ATmega328P-U. While the printed name on the IC may appear as ATmega328P-U, it is essentially a version of the ATmega328P-PU.
This microcontroller is based on the AVR enhanced RISC architecture, operating as a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller. Its efficient execution of powerful instructions in a single clock cycle allows the ATmega328P-PU to achieve throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz. This capability empowers system designers to balance power consumption with processing speed effectively.
The AVR core of the ATmega328P-PU integrates a rich instruction set with 32 general-purpose working registers. All 32 registers are directly linked to the Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU), facilitating access to two independent registers in a single instruction executed within one clock cycle. Consequently, the architecture enhances code efficiency while delivering throughputs up to ten times faster than conventional CISC microcontrollers.
The ATmega328P-PU AVR microcontroller is complemented by a comprehensive suite of program and system development tools. These tools include C compilers, macro assemblers, program debugger/simulators, in-circuit emulators, and evaluation kits, ensuring robust support for development and deployment.
Note: The available IC model for this type is ATMEGA328P U.
