Cytron 20Amp 6V-30V DC Motor Driver MD20A

The MD20A provides bidirectional control for a single high-power brushed DC motor within the voltage range of 6V to 30V. Utilizing a discrete NMOS H-Bridge design, this motor driver boasts a continuous 20Amp support without the need for an additional heatsink. Featuring onboard test buttons and motor output LEDs, the MD20A facilitates quick and convenient functional testing of the motor driver without requiring a connection to the host controller.

This motor driver supports control via PWM and DIR inputs, making it versatile and compatible with a broad range of host controllers such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and PLC, with an input logic voltage range from 1.8V to 12V. The MD20A incorporates various protection features, including overcurrent protection to prevent damage in instances of motor stalls or when an oversized motor is connected. In situations where the motor tries to draw current beyond the driver’s capacity, the current is limited to the maximum threshold.

Temperature protection further enhances safety by adjusting the maximum current limiting threshold based on the board temperature. This dynamic adjustment ensures that the MD20A can operate at its full potential, adapting to actual conditions without risking damage to the MOSFETs.

Note: Power input does not have reverse-voltage protection. Connecting the battery in reverse polarity will damage the motor driver instantaneously.
