The BK05 250V 5A 80°C Plastic Thermostatic Temperature Switch NC is a type of thermostat employing a bimetal disc as its temperature sensing element.

Under normal conditions, the bimetal disc remains in a free state, keeping the contacts closed while the electrical appliance operates.

Once the ambient temperature reaches the preset operating temperature, the contacts open as the bimetal disc deforms due to heating, interrupting the circuit to control the temperature. As the electrical appliance cools down to the reset temperature, the contacts automatically close to restore the circuit.

This thermostat finds widespread application in home appliances and electrical equipment, including air conditioner motors, transformers, and thermal appliances.
