The 3D Printer Controller Board RAMPS 1.4 is an Arduino Mega Shield designed for RepRap Prusa models, commonly known as Mega Pololu Shield or RAMPS. This compact board integrates all the necessary electronics for a RepRap 3D printer at a cost-effective price. It connects an Arduino Mega to the powerful Arduino MEGA platform and allows ample room for future expansions.

For proper functionality, RAMPS boards must be connected to their motherboard, the Mega 2560, and A4988/DRV8825. Known for its operational stability and broad compatibility with various 3D printers, including popular models like Prusa i2 and i3, the combination of Ramps1.4 + MEGA2560 + A4988/DRV8825 has become a standard for DIY 3D printer control boards.

The modular design of RAMPS 1.4 includes plug-in stepper drivers and extruder control electronics on an Arduino MEGA shield, facilitating easy servicing, part replacement, and system upgrades. Moreover, users can add various Arduino expansion boards to the system, as long as the primary RAMPS board remains at the top of the stack.
