The 5MP Raspberry Pi Zero W Camera Module, accompanied by an HBV FFC Cable, features a flexible cable designed for seamless attachment to the Raspberry Pi Zero W. This 5MP camera module is particularly well-suited for compact Raspberry Pi projects with limited space – simply boot up the latest version of Raspbian, and you’re ready to go!

The high-definition 5MP camera not only captures outstanding photos but is also capable of shooting video, making it ideal for applications such as drones or CCTV projects. Its lightweight design opens up practical possibilities, including use as a discreet camera or even as a component for a Pi-phone.

Specifically tailored for the Raspberry Pi, this Camera Module attaches to the board’s upper surface through one of its two small sockets. It utilizes the dedicated CSI interface, optimized for camera interfacing, offering exceptionally high data rates exclusively for pixel data transmission.

With compact dimensions of approximately 25mm x 23mm x 8mm and a weight of just over 3g, this camera module is ideal for mobile applications where size and weight matter. Connection to the Raspberry Pi is facilitated by a short, flexible ribbon cable. The camera communicates with the BCM2835 processor via the CSI bus, a high-bandwidth link transmitting pixel data from the camera to the processor.

Featuring a native resolution of 5 megapixels and a fixed focus lens onboard, the sensor delivers static images at 2592 x 1944 pixels. Video capabilities include 1080p30, 720p60, and 640x480p60/90. Remarkably, no adapters are needed – this camera seamlessly plugs directly into the Raspberry Pi Zero (or ZeroW) camera port!
