A Battery Eliminator Circuit (BEC) is a type of voltage regulator designed to prevent excessive voltage from reaching the Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs), ensuring that only the necessary voltage is supplied. In modern RC airplanes with high-voltage batteries, a BEC enables the operation of the receiver, servos, and other accessories using the main battery, eliminating the need for a separate lower-voltage battery.
The APM 2.5.2/2.6/2.8 Pixhawk Power Module offers a straightforward solution for providing clean power to the APM 2.5 from a LiPo battery, along with current consumption and battery voltage measurements. This is achieved through a 6-pos cable. The on-board switching regulator delivers a stable 5.3V and a maximum of 2.25A from a 2S-6S LiPo battery. The Power Module comes pre-assembled with either “Deans” or “T” connectors, enclosed in shrink tubing for added protection. Additionally, the circuit is designed to detect a sensing current around 90 A.
