Introducing the BeagleBone Black, the latest addition to the BeagleBoard family, designed as a cost-effective and highly expandable solution. It features the Sitara AM3358BZCZ100 ARM Cortex-A8 32-Bit RISC microprocessor from Texas Instruments, offering enhanced capabilities for developers. While it shares similarities with the BeagleBone, the BeagleBone Black distinguishes itself by incorporating new and improved features while removing some previous ones.

Built on the successful Beagleboard.org platform, known for fostering innovation from concept to market, the BeagleBone Black streamlines the process of turning ideas into prototypes. Whether used independently or in conjunction with another computer, this BeagleBone variant provides developers with easy access to industry-standard interfaces and a robust ecosystem of software and tools.

For enthusiasts who appreciated the BeagleBone Black Rev B, the Rev C takes it up a notch. It retains the powerful 1GHz processor, 512MB onboard DDR3 RAM, AM3359 microprocessor, and key features such as two 46-pin headers, micro HDMI for audio/video output, USB ports, and 10/100 Ethernet. Notably, the Rev C boasts 4GB of built-in eMMC storage, doubling the capacity of its predecessor. The switch to Debian Linux, pre-loaded on the board’s flash instead of Angstrom Linux, offers a more user-friendly operating system, responding to consumer demand.

As an open board, the BeagleBone Black Rev C allows users to load alternative operating systems like Angstrom, Ubuntu, or Android. The board comes equipped with a mini-B cable for immediate power-up, and its 4GB eMMC eliminates the need for an SD card to get started.

Moreover, the BeagleBone Black Rev C maintains compatibility with the original BeagleBone’s cape plug-in boards, facilitating seamless integration with prior projects. Experience the versatility and enhanced features of the BeagleBone Black Rev C, an ultra-powered embedded computer that fits conveniently in a mint tin.
