The BMP180 Digital Barometric Sensor Module, compatible with Arduino, is designed to measure the absolute pressure of the environment, offering various interesting applications.

By converting the measured pressure into altitude, the BMP180 serves as a reliable sensor for determining the height of a robot, plane, or projectile. With its high capability, the BMP180 can achieve an accuracy of 1 meter, with a noise level of only 17 cm in ultra-high resolution mode.

Operating at a low current draw of just 0.3 µA, the BMP180 is ideal for battery-powered applications. The sensor comes fully calibrated and ready to use. It communicates over the I2C interface, and for added convenience, optional I2C pull-ups can be enabled using the PU (pull-up) jumper on the board, simplifying breadboarding.

The device provides pressure and temperature data as 16-bit values over I2C. These values, combined with the internal calibration data, allow for a temperature-compensated altitude calculation.
