The CJMCU-219 module features an I2C interface with zero drift and bi-directional current/power monitoring and control. The INA219 IC used in this module is known for its high precision and small size. It can monitor the voltage drop across the shunt resistor, sense the shunt power supply voltage, and calculate power simultaneously.

This breakout board simplifies power monitoring, eliminating the need for multiple multimeters. The INA219 chip measures both the high-side voltage and DC current draw over I2C with 1% precision. It is packaged in a SOT23 casing, making it a compact and cost-effective solution for applications such as servers, notebook computers, power supplies, battery management systems, digital electric vehicles, and telecommunications equipment.

A precision amplifier within the module measures the voltage across a 0.1-ohm, 1% sense resistor. The amplifier can handle a maximum input difference of ±320mV, allowing it to measure currents up to ±3.2 Amps. The internal 12-bit ADC provides a resolution of 0.8mA at this range. When the internal gain is set to the minimum (div8), the maximum current measurable is ±400mA with a resolution of 0.1mA. Advanced users can modify the module by replacing the 0.1-ohm sense resistor to adjust the measurement range, such as using a 0.01-ohm resistor to measure up to 32 Amps with a resolution of 8mA.

The INA219 operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, maintaining an accuracy of 1% and a maximum offset of 100 μV. Its high precision combined with 12-bit resolution helps reduce the voltage drop across the shunt resistor, minimizing power loss and consumption, and saving board space. The device supports a bus voltage range of 0V to +26V.
