For reduced interference and increased range, the EL18 uses FLYSKY’s enhanced AFHDS 3 (Third-Generation Automatic Frequency Hopping Digital System) high-frequency protocol. Additionally, one-way or two-way real-time data streaming is compatible with this technology. High-precision, sensitive, and accurate CNC Hall effect gimbals are used by the transmitter. These premium gimbals are fully adjustable, have a long lifespan, and can be set to be either self-centering or non-self-centering. There are eight switches total, with four on the front and two rotary potentiometers, and four more conveniently positioned on the back. The switches come in three different configurations: two-way, three-way, and spring-loaded. A variety of colored switch covers are included so that the different switches may be easily identified.

The 3.5-inch IPS touch screen of the EL18 makes programming simple, and it can be adjusted to improve the display in even the most difficult lighting situations. The two trim caps on either side of the screen allow you to quickly adjust the four primary flight controls. Two x 18650 type batteries (not included) provide power; one in each handle is wired in parallel, allowing battery changes one at a time without shutting down the Tx. There is a USB-C port available for charging, file transfer, and firmware flashing. The metal case has a stunning red electroplated acrylic textured covering that is both aesthetically pleasing and incredibly sturdy.

With the ability to use any mainstream RF modules including those with a transmitting power of up to 2W, the EL18 can offer an interference-free range of 3000 meters or more. The flexibility of the EL18 goes on as it also includes support for the CRSF, and CRFS2 protocols developed by TBS. These long-range protocols give the advantage of ultra-low latency, a fast update rate, and fast two-way communication.
