HTC Instrument DM-81 Digital Multimeter Capacitance Diode Transistor and Live Tester

This newly designed multimeter, with its small yellow color LCD, is ideal for everyday use. It caters to basic continuity checks, voltage measurements, and more, making it suitable for users with fundamental multimeter knowledge.

A multimeter, also known as a VOM (Volt-Ohm meter), is a comprehensive electronic measuring instrument that integrates various measurement functions into a single unit. This digital multimeter, equipped with a small yellow color LCD, provides essential features for measuring voltage, current, and resistance.

Analog multimeters utilize a microammeter with a moving pointer over a scale calibrated for different measurements. In contrast, digital multimeters display measured values in numerals and may include a proportional bar display. While digital multimeters have become more common, analog versions are still preferred in certain scenarios, especially when monitoring rapidly-varying parameters.

For transistor testing, the DM-81 features a switch for testing the magnifying ratio (hFE). Connect the transistor to the eight-hole jack marked in blue for this purpose. The multimeter also offers a square wave output with a frequency of 50Hz and an output voltage of approximately 3Vp-p. The output jack is labeled as “VΩmA” and “COM.”
