MQ-4 High Sensitivity Gas Methane (CNG) Detector Sensor Module

To detect methane gases in your projects, you will need reliable sensors. The MQ-4 High Sensitivity Gas Methane (CNG) Detector Sensor Module is an excellent choice for this purpose.

This module is designed to sense the presence of compressed natural gas (CNG), methane (CH4), and similar gases in the air. It utilizes the MQ-4 sensor, which simplifies the interface with its odd pin spacing and provides standard 4 x 0.1″ header pins for easy connectivity.

The module outputs an analog signal corresponding to the gas concentration in the air and also provides a digital output. The onboard potentiometer allows you to set a threshold for the maximum gas concentration, beyond which the digital output is triggered. The MQ-4 can detect natural gas concentrations ranging from 200 to 10000 ppm.

To use the module, simply power it with 5V, set the threshold, and start measuring the gas concentration in the surrounding air. An onboard LED indicates the presence of gas.

The digital output can be easily interfaced with microcontrollers and other circuits, while the analog output can be connected to an ADC of a microcontroller to obtain a wide range of sensor readings. This sensor module is ideal for detecting natural gas (primarily composed of methane [CH4]) concentrations in the air.
