The MT3608 2A Max DC-DC Step Up Power Module Booster Power Module offers an economical solution for stepping up input voltages ranging from 2V to 24V to outputs between 5V and 28V, with a maximum current output of 2A.

DC-DC boost converters like this one increase the input voltage while simultaneously reducing the available current, as the module cannot output more power than its inputs can provide.

This boost converter is adjustable, allowing for output voltages within the 5.0 to 28V range, with a continuous current rating of up to 1.5A, though 1A is generally available across most settings.

As it is a boost converter, the input voltage must be lower than the desired output voltage.

This device utilizes low equivalent series resistance (ESR) bulk ceramic capacitors rather than electrolytic ones, addressing long-term aging concerns and contributing to its compact design.

Moreover, the MT3608 converter IC incorporates over-current and thermal limiting features, automatically shutting down the device to prevent damage if it is pushed beyond its operational limits.

Voltage Adjustment:

The module has a single-turn potentiometer for adjustment of the output voltage.

Turning the pot CW decreases the output voltage while turning it  CCW increases the output voltage.

The upper limit of the adjustment range will depend on the input voltage and the load.  With a 9V input for instance, at 1A, the upper voltage limit will be approximately 20V.

4. VOUT- =  Ground.  Connected to VIN- on the module.
