This is the OE-37 Hall Effect Two-Channel Magnetic Encoder.
If you want to build a project where the machine can control the speed and direction of a conveyor belt, a rotary encoder is essential. This encoder is available at a reasonable price.
The two-channel Hall effect encoder senses the rotation of a magnetic disk attached to the rear protrusion of the motor shaft. The quadrature encoder provides a resolution of 7 counts per revolution of the motor shaft when counting both edges of both channels. The encoder has six output pins.
The OE-37 Hall Effect Two-Channel Magnetic Encoder requires an input voltage (Vcc) between 4.5 and 24 V and draws a maximum of 10 mA. The A and B outputs are square waves ranging from 0 V to Vcc, approximately 90° out of phase. The frequency of the transitions indicates the motor’s speed, while the order of the transitions indicates the direction.
By counting both the rising and falling edges of the A and B outputs, you can achieve 7 counts per revolution of the motor shaft for both channels.
The encoder comes with all necessary accessories for mounting, including a plastic case, washer, magnet, connecting cable, and a set of screws.
