Panasonic’s PIR (Passive Infrared or Pyroelectric) Motion Sensor is an industrial-grade, extremely dependable, accurate, and exact sensor. The PIR sensor picks up infrared radiation from human movement in the low infrared band (10µm wavelength). As little as 3°C can separate an object’s temperature from the environment, according to the sensors. A window comparator measures changes in the amount of detected emission; if the change beyond the upper or lower threshold, the sensor’s output level rises and can be used to activate external circuitry.
