Featuring the prototype V3 gold PCB sink process, the mainboard’s golden square pad spacing is compact, making it more convenient for welding components. The use of SOP28 SMT components encapsulation enhances ease of use for Arduino electronic enthusiasts, providing more flexibility beyond traditional inserted components.
The Prototyping Shield streamlines the process of designing custom circuits. Users have the option to solder components directly onto the shield for a more permanent setup or use the mini breadboard for quick testing of circuit ideas without soldering. The shield offers additional connections for all I/O pins, accommodating both through-hole and surface mount integrated circuits.
Measuring 2.7 inches in length and 2.1 inches in width, the Proto Shield PCB includes three screw holes for secure attachment to a surface or case. It is worth noting that the distance between digital pins 7 and 8 is 160 mil (12:16″), which is not an even multiple of the 100-mil distance from the other pins. This versatile shield provides a convenient way to create custom circuits and modules for Arduino Mega projects.
