The DAC PRO is a HAT-compliant add-on accessory designed for the Raspberry Pi, featuring the Texas Instruments PCM5242 for exceptional Signal to Noise Ratio. This versatile DAC PRO supports Balanced/Differential output alongside Phono/RCA line-level output, and it incorporates a dedicated headphone amplifier.

Connecting the DAC PRO to the Raspberry Pi A+/B+/RPi2/RPi3 or PRi4 is effortless, requiring no additional soldering, as it seamlessly attaches to the 40-way pin header. Powered directly by the Raspberry Pi, the DAC PRO prioritizes noise immunity and optimal audio playback through careful component selection and track layout.

Key Exposures:

1. P1 (Analogue Out):
– Carries GPIO27, MUTE signal (headphone detect), Left and Right Audio, and Left and Right Ground.
– Analogue output range: 0 to 2VRMS.

2. P6 (Headphone Socket Signals):
– Pin1: LEFT, 2: GROUND, 3: RIGHT, 4: GROUND, 5: DETECT.

3. P7/9 (Differential Output):
– P7: LEFT, P9: RIGHT.
– Differential output range: 0 to 4VRMS.

4. P10 (Alternative 5V Input):
– Powers the Raspberry Pi in parallel with an alternative 5V input.

The DAC PRO also features two 3-pin headers (P7/P9) utilized by the optional XLR board to offer Differential/Balanced output through XLR sockets positioned above the Raspberry Pi’s USB/Ethernet ports.
