Raspberry PIIQ Audio Codec Zero

Codec Zero is a compact board designed to match the size of a Raspberry Pi Zero, complete with an integrated HAT EEPROM for seamless Linux environment auto-configuration when necessary. Although it shares the Raspberry Pi Zero’s dimensions, Codec Zero is purpose-built for audio signal processing, supporting various input and output devices, including built-in MEMS microphones, mono Electret microphones, and mono speakers (1.2W 8Ω).

Facilitating bi-directional digital audio signals (I2S) between the Raspberry Pi and the onboard Dialog Semiconductor DA7212, the Codec Zero ensures efficient audio processing. Additionally, it features GREEN (GPIO23) and RED (GPIO24) LEDs for status indication, along with a tactile button (GPIO27) that can trigger events. The Codec Zero serves as an excellent foundation for projects such as walkie-talkies, intelligent doorbells, vintage radio hacks, or smart-type speakers.
