The Sabertooth Dual 25A Motor Driver stands out as one of the most versatile, efficient, and user-friendly dual motor drivers available, tailored for high-powered robots. It can efficiently handle up to 100lbs in combat scenarios or up to 300lbs for general-purpose robotics.

Straight out of the box, the Sabertooth can effortlessly supply two DC brushed motors with a robust 25A each. For brief intervals, it can achieve peak currents of 50A per channel. The built-in overcurrent and thermal protection ensure worry-free operation, guarding against accidental stalls or connecting overly powerful motors.

The Sabertooth allows precise control of two motors through analog voltage, radio control, serial, and packetized serial communication. Its versatility makes it suitable for creating a variety of robots with increasing complexity over the years. Operating in independent and speed+direction modes, the Sabertooth is an ideal choice for differential drive (tank-style) robots and more.

Setting the operating mode is simplified with onboard DIP switches, eliminating the need for jumpers that can be easily misplaced. Featuring screw terminal connectors makes it possible to build a robot without soldering, enhancing user convenience.

Pioneering as the first synchronous regenerative motor driver in its class, the Sabertooth adopts a regenerative topology, recharging batteries whenever the robot slows down or reverses. This feature enables quick stops and reverses, providing your robot with a nimble and agile edge.

Equipped with a built-in 5V 1A Switch-mode BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit), the Sabertooth can power your microcontroller, R/C receiver, and accommodate 3-4 standard analog servos. The lithium cutoff mode ensures safe operation with lithium-ion and lithium-polymer battery packs, offering compatibility with the highest energy density batteries available.

Operating at ultrasonic speeds (32kHz), Sabertooth’s transistors ensure silent operation. The Sabertooth 2X25 utilizes 1.3 milliohm MOSFETs in its bridge, a specification that, following competitor rating schemes, would categorize it as a dual 190A motor driver.

To optimize performance, it is advised to avoid using cheap AC adapters and instead use a battery or, at the very least, parallel a battery with a DC supply.
