The TM1638 Button Digital LED Display Module utilizes the TM1638 chip, integrating three common MCU peripheral circuits. Its standout feature lies in its efficiency, requiring only three microcontroller IO ports for operation. It eliminates the need for the microcontroller to perform display and key scanning tasks, as it independently manages these functions. Consequently, it saves valuable MCU resources by simply reading relevant registers to send display data or test button inputs.
Typically, using external microcontrollers for 8 LEDs, 8 digital tubes, and eight keys would consume a considerable number of IO ports, far exceeding the three IO ports required by this module. However, the TM1638 module streamlines this process, facilitating practical applications with excellent key sensitivity and display performance.
For wiring, connect VCC and GND to a 5V power supply, while STB, CLK, and DIO are linked to microcontroller IO ports. The module features 8 buttons, 8 LEDs, and 8 digital tubes, with common cathode LED digital tubes. It can be directly interfaced with microcontrollers like the STC series.
