The TP5100 4.2V and 8.4V Dual Battery Protection Board is a versatile charge management chip designed for single-cell 4.2V and double-cell 8.4V lithium batteries. Its ultra-compact QFN16 package and simple external circuitry make the TP5100 ideal for portable equipment and high-current charging applications. It features built-in protections against input overcurrent, under-voltage, over-temperature, short circuits, and reverse battery connection, as well as battery temperature monitoring.
With a wide input voltage range of 5V-15V, the TP5100 supports dual battery trickle charge, pre-charge, constant current, and constant voltage phases. The pre-charge and trickle charge currents can be adjusted via an external resistor, with a maximum charge current of up to 2A. The TP5100 operates at a 400kHz switching frequency, allowing for the use of smaller external components while maintaining efficient, high-current charging with minimal heat generation.
Additionally, the TP5100 includes a built-in power PMOSFET and anti-intrusion circuit, eliminating the need for an external Schottky diode and providing robust anti-intrusion protection.
