Introducing the Uno R3 Arduino Kit! It’s a basic package that includes all you need, saving you time searching for Arduino and its essentials.

The Uno R3 Arduino Board is the heart, featuring 14 digital pins (6 PWM), 6 analog inputs, USB connection, power jack, and more. It’s a micro-controller based on ATmega328.

Everything to support the microcontroller is included. Just connect it to a computer via USB or power it with an AC-to-DC adapter or battery.

“Uno” means one in Italian, marking the release of Arduino 1.0. It’s the reference model for Arduino, with the Uno R3 being the latest USB version. Check the Arduino boards index for comparisons.

The pack comes with a quality USB-A to USB-B cable and a sturdy Transparent Acrylic Case for protection. It’s Plug-N-Play, so let’s dive into coding!

Note: The Uno R3 reference design can use an Atmega8, 168, or 328, Current models use an ATmega328, but an Atmega8 is shown in the schematic for reference. The pin configuration is identical on all three processors.

The Uno R3 offers versatile power options, supporting USB connection, external power supply, or battery. Automatic selection ensures seamless power management.

External power sources, such as AC-to-DC adapters or batteries, can be utilized. Connect the adapter via the power jack or insert battery leads into the POWER connector’s Gnd and Vin pins. The board operates on 6 to 20 volts, with a recommended range of 7 to 12 volts. Caution is advised to prevent instability (below 7V) or damage to the voltage regulator (above 12V).

Key Power Pins:
– VIN: Input voltage when powered externally.
– 5V: Regulated 5V output.
– 3V3: Onboard regulator’s 3.3V output.
– GND: Ground pins.
– IOREF: Provides voltage reference for the microcontroller.

Memory:
– ATmega328: 32 KB Flash, 2 KB SRAM, 1 KB EEPROM.

Input and Output:
– 14 digital pins (6 PWM), 6 analog inputs.
– Specialized pins for Serial, External Interrupts, PWM, SPI, and TWI (I2C).
– Built-in LED on pin 13.

Communication:
– UART TTL (5V) serial communication on pins 0 (RX) and 1 (TX).
– ATmega16U2 manages USB-to-serial communication.
– Supports I2C and SPI communication.

Programming:
– Program with Arduino software.
– Pre-burned bootloader enables code upload via USB.
– ICSP header allows direct programming.

Reset:
– Auto-reset capability facilitated by hardware flow control.
– A trace (RESET-EN) can be cut to disable auto-reset.

USB Overcurrent Protection:
– Resettable polyfuse protects USB ports from shorts or overcurrent.

Physical Characteristics:
– PCB dimensions: 2.7 x 2.1 inches, with USB connector and power jack extending beyond.
– Four screw holes for mounting.
