Featuring a single data line, this module utilizes a timing-specific protocol that requires a real-time microcontroller with an 8MHz or faster processor, such as an AVR, Arduino, PIC, or embedded controller. Solder pads on the back allow for easy connection of wires or breadboard pins, while two mounting holes enable secure attachment to various surfaces.

The module boasts four leads:
