The W5500 chip stands as a Hardwired TCP/IP embedded Ethernet controller, streamlining Internet connectivity for embedded systems. With W5500, users can effortlessly integrate Internet connectivity into their applications using a single chip housing TCP/IP stack, 10/100 Ethernet MAC, and PHY functionalities. Leveraging WIZnet’s proven Hardwired TCP/IP technology, W5500 supports a range of essential protocols including TCP, UDP, IPv4, ICMP, ARP, IGMP, and PPPoE.

The onboard 32Kbyte internal memory buffer facilitates efficient Ethernet packet processing, enabling seamless implementation of Ethernet applications through simple socket programming. This approach offers a faster and more straightforward method compared to alternative Embedded Ethernet solutions. Moreover, W5500 supports the simultaneous use of 8 independent hardware sockets, enhancing flexibility for diverse applications.

To further optimize power consumption, W5500 incorporates features such as Wake on LAN (WOL) and power-down mode, contributing to efficient system operation and energy management.
